Property Acquisition and Management Professional
Kyle Scott is Co-Founder of Limestone Private Equity Group. Kyle is a veteran project manager with nearly 20 years of experience in operations, contracting, and work crew management.
Kyle began his professional career as an equipment operator with Great Lakes Dredging and Dock, one of the largest dredging companies in the world — most notable in recent years for its construction of the Palm Islands in Dubai — where he worked on projects to deepen cargo shipping channels and to revitalize beaches with shore protection. He quickly rose through the company to become its youngest foreman, in which capacity he was responsible for the mobilization and demobilization of mining-grade equipment, overseeing 24/7 projects, 30-60 person crews, and managing projects sized between $10 and $100 million.
While at Great Lakes, Kyle was also charged with spearheading a company-wide safety program, which was a first in both the company and the industry. In this role, Kyle worked for over 2.5 years with upper management, safety officers, OSHA, and other stakeholders in developing first-of-their-kind safety protocols still in use today.
After joining his long-time business partner Guy Salani, Kyle co-managed and operated five construction companies, including a full-service residential contracting company, a union drywall and carpentry company, a high-end custom carpentry and cabinetry company, and a project management firm dedicated to government-funded aid and mitigation projects in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
At the same time, Kyle and Guy operated a successful real estate development business that handled the acquisition, repositioning, and sale of approximately 25 (1-4) family residential properties in New Jersey, Florida, and North Carolina.
Surf & Turf Roofing
Drawing upon these experiences, Kyle and Guy formed Surf & Turf Roofing, which within 5 years has risen to become one of South Jersey’s leading full-service roofing contractors and which is on track toward $10.8 million in sales in 2021. Surf & Turf Roofing currently employs over 25 people, has enjoyed annual revenue growth exceeding 25%, and has sustained over 20% EBITDA while spearheading this rapid growth.
After years of intensive hands-on work building Surf & Turf Roofing, Guy and Kyle succeeded in bringing the company to a point at which a full-time general manager/controller could be brought into the operation. This, combined with the implementation of an EOS system and a number of smart workflow automations, has resulted in Surf & Turf becoming a largely employee-run, highly efficient, self-sustaining concern.
